Welcome to the Sir Denis Rooke Library, a treasure trove of knowledge dedicated to the rich history and evolution of the gas industry. Housed at IGEM House in Kegworth, this specialised library offers members exclusive access to a vast collection of resources, including technical standards, journals, historical artefacts, and institutional records.

Our collection is now searchable on our new online catalogue. Currently, over 8,000 records have been uploaded, with many more planned. A working progress, the catalogue is currently in beta mode with only the search mode available but more IGEM member benefits will be added in the future.

Whether you're conducting in-depth research, tracing the development of gas engineering, or seeking inspiration for future innovations, the Sir Denis Rooke Library serves as a vital resource. Named in honour of Sir Denis Rooke, former Chairman of British Gas and a pivotal figure in the UK's gas sector, the library embodies IGEM's commitment to preserving and sharing the legacy of the gas industry.
