Independent Chair Opportunity with the Building Safety Regulator
IGEM is pleased to share this opportunity from the Building Safety Regulator (BSR), which may be of interest to members and others in our community.
The BSR is seeking an independent Chair for its Building Advisory Committee (BAC).
The role requires proven leadership to guide this important committee as it delivers its aims and objectives. The appointment is ongoing and fixed term, for a maximum of three years.
The Building Safety Act 2022 established the BSR in England to improve the standard and safety of all buildings. The Act also enabled the creation of the BAC, which provides advice to BSR on building functions, excluding those relating to competence in the built environment industry and Registered Building Inspectors.
The BAC operates through a high-level steering group and several subgroups. These subgroups focus on new and emerging issues, industry trends, innovations across the built environment and effective engagement with the sector to inspire change.
