IGEM appoints new President and Section Chairs

David Tomkin CEng FIGEM 
IGEM President 2024 - 2025

David Tomkin, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IGEM, began his career 23 years ago as an apprentice engineer with Transco. His experience spans upstream and downstream sectors, including roles at British Gas and Gas Safe Register.

Recently, he has been focusing on hydrogen, contributing to projects like H21 and NGN's ‘Hydrogen Homes’. David now serves as a Principal Consultant for DNV at their Spadeadam Research and Testing site in Cumbria, specialising in hazardous trials and incident investigation. He's also been active in standards, panels, and committees for IGEM, receiving the Engineering Technician of the Year award in 2018.
