Wales & West Utilities to trial hydrogen van and fuel ecosystem

Wales & West Utilities, the gas distribution network, is commencing trials of a fuel ecosystem and a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) this month as part of its efforts to decarbonise its fleet.

Developed by First Hydrogen, a specialist in automotive and green energy, the vehicle will now be stationed at WWU's Swansea depot.

It will be utilised by network engineers to facilitate customer callouts and carry out repair and maintenance tasks, bolstering the firm's extensive fleet of 1,300 vehicles.
