Project Name: Wilmount Street
Scheme background: UK Power Networks (UKPN), SGN, and Thames Water collaborated to share a 70-metre trench, with UKPN managing the reinstatement work. This project is part of UKPN's 4km new connection initiative. SGN installed a new gas pipe for residents, while Thames Water conducted maintenance to reduce water leakage.
UKPN organised a meeting with the SGN and Thames Water and provided traffic management, reducing disruption for residents and businesses by 17 days.
Communication with Local Stakeholders
A communication plan was developed with the local authority, SGN, and Thames Water to highlight the benefits of this collaboration. UKPN handled traffic signage, while SGN informed residents with a letter drop before the project began.
