Project Name: Starts Hill Road

Scheme background: The project was SGN and Thames Water/Morrison water services working collaboratively in the same area then Bromley council are following on to carry out resurfacing works. Although the works were within the Bromley Borough.

Between the planned conference calls, TW, Morrison water services and ourselves held other meetings to keep the momentum up and had both organisations discussing roles & responsibilities, such as cost sharing, TM plans, who excavates and who reinstates the area. We also shared a road closure on Starts Hill road

The project started with SGN on 10th April and took 113 days to complete. Thames water works started on 17th July and finished on 25th July 2024. SGN carried out mains replacement with a mixture of open cut and insertion. SGN installed 416m of 125mm PE, 44m of 180mm PE and abandoned 406m of 6” and 52m of 8” Cast Iron Abandonment.

TW needed to Excavate to install 2 Valves & a Hydrant to be on a 12” trunk main to facilitate with DM04318 exchange. Valves and Hydrant to also be installed in grass, backfill & reinstate.
