Project Name: Oakfield Road

Project Reference Number: SOE16122
Project Network: SGN

Scheme background: The project was between UK Power Networks (UKPN) and SGN working collaboratively in the same area, with works situated in the London Borough of Croydon, saving 38 days of disruption.

UKPN’s work is part of the Sydenham-Churchfields 33kV overlay, which spans 4.6km and connects new permanent electricity supplies. Clancy is working on behalf of UK Power Networks (UKPN) to trench 140 meters on Laurel Grove and 160 meters on Blean Grove, collaborating with JDT Utilities, who are working on behalf of SGN.

The Greater London Authority (GLA) identified an overlap in the Infrastructure Management Agreement (IMA), and we shared our route traffic management plans with SGN. Bromley has granted UKPN an early start on Laurel Grove, with work scheduled to begin on April 10, 2024, and finish by May 17, 2024. SGN utilised UKPN’s letter drop for resident notifications, and UKPN printed shared signage to outline the Collaboration and benefits of days saved throughout the project.

SGN/JDT excavated connections holes and inserted 206 metres of 75mm PE, 1 metre of 90mm PE and 203 metres of 125mm PE gas main. While carrying out the insertion of mains we carried out abandonment of 207 meters of 4” CI and 203 metres 8” CI.
