Project Name: Camden Road
Scheme background: The project was SGN/JDT and was part of Bexley council resurfacing scheme, works were situated in the London borough of Bexley. Between the planned conference calls with JDT, Bexley council ourselves held other meetings to keep the momentum up and had both organisations discussing roles & responsibilities.
This was project was highlighted through the Bexley councils resurfacing scheme, SGN created a project to carry out essential gas main and service replacement. Bexley council used our road closure to carry out resurfacing work to install a new zebra crossing in the vicinity of out project.
The project started on 25th July 2024 and took approximately 6 weeks to complete. SGN/JDT did a mixture of live and dead inserted main with a total of 431 metres of 180mm PE, 18 metres of 125mm PE and 11 metres of 75mm PE. SGN/JDT abandoned 16.5 metres of 6” CI main, 11 metres of 4” CI Main and 431 of 8” CI main. We renewed all gas services during these works, we used a vac ex to excavate all service and connection holes. SGN temporary backfilled and reinstated the holes as resurfacing was carried out.
