Planning ahead
In June, IGEM's Far East District Section (FEDS) held its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Hong Kong to reflect on the previous year's successes and make plans for the upcoming one.
With 31 members in attendance, Charles Chan, 2024-2025 FEDS Chair, kicked off the session by presenting the Chair's annual report.
He highlighted the Section’s dedicated commitment to serving members and contributing to the gas engineering profession, as evidenced in a host of activities organised with a key focus on hydrogen energy.
The events covered a delegation visit to Beijing and Mongolia, a technical visit to Foshan, the Presidential visit by IGEM Past President David Tomkin and CEO Oliver Lancaster and the YPPC FEDS Final.
Thanks were given to past IGEM Presidents James Kwan and Duncan Wong for their continued service as Honorary Advisors.
Charles then bestowed the FEDS Chair Medal to Vincent Chow, Section Chair for 2025-2026 period. Vincent then charted the way forward, expressing confidence that the FEDS would sustain its momentum to achieve another fruitful and brilliant year.
Following, there was an annual dinner which provided members and guests an opportunity for further networking and celebration.
