Nicola Evans announced as IGEM President for 2025 - 2026

The Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicola Evans as IGEM President for the 2025 - 2026 term.

Nicola brings over 35 years of industry experience to the role, having begun her career as an apprentice gas service engineer with British Gas. She is a Chartered Engineer of IGEM and has held key operational and strategic positions at organisations including Transco, National Grid, Wales & West Utilities, Bristol Water, Penspen, and currently Skewb.

Now serving as Director of Gas Transition & Futures at Skewb, she leads a diverse portfolio that delivers specialist services and software solutions to the gas industry. Her expertise spans Network Operations and Strategy, Asset Management, and Regulatory Affairs.

As a long-standing IGEM member and active volunteer, Nicola has contributed to several committees and is particularly passionate about her involvement with IGEM’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group. She also serves as a Director at Future Energy Networks (FEN).

Nicola’s presidency promises to focus on supporting the gas industry to push the boundaries through a period of unprecedented change, with a strong emphasis on innovation, inclusion, and future-ready strategies.

During her term as President, Nicola will get involved at internal and external events, representing IGEM and showcasing the benefits the institution has to offer. She will also be striving to implement her action plan of the year by bettering IGEM’s EDI efforts and working towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Outside of her professional commitments, she is a dedicated mother to her daughter Lois and enjoys running, gym workouts, and long Sunday walks.
