Major boost for hydrogen as UK unlocks new investment and jobs

A total of 700 employment opportunities are set to emerge throughout the United Kingdom within a cutting-edge hydrogen sector, spanning from the South West of England to the Highlands of Scotland.

This groundbreaking industry is supported by a substantial £2 billion in government funding, which will be allocated over the course of the next 15 years.

Claire Coutinho, the Energy Security Secretary, has unveiled support for 11 significant initiatives aimed at generating green hydrogen. These projects will utilize the process of electrolysis and suppliers involved will be granted a fixed price by the government for the clean energy they provide.
