Call for renewable-ready boilers in new rural new builds from Liquid Gas UK

Liquid Gas UK, representing the LPG and renewable liquid gas (RLG) sector, has urged the government to permit the installation of renewable-ready boilers in rural new build homes that are not linked to the mains gas network.

In response to the Future Homes and Buildings Standards consultation by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), Liquid Gas UK stressed the importance of adopting a mixed technology approach to decarbonise rural, off-grid housing stock.

The trade body has advocated for the use of renewable liquid gases like bioLPG and rDME in heating rural, off-grid homes, highlighting that bioLPG can lead to a significant reduction of up to 90% in carbon emissions compared to traditional LPG.
