The UK government has launched a Hydrogen Advisory Council as part of its decarbonisation efforts.

Co-chaired by Kwasi Kwarteng, Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, and Sinead Lynch, UK Country Chair of Shell, the Hydrogen Advisory Council will be the primary forum for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) ministerial engagement with representatives from the hydrogen sector.

Government and industry will work together through the council to identify and promote concrete actions required to enable the supply of low carbon hydrogen at scale for use across the energy system, addressing near-term challenges and maximising opportunities for UK business in this rapidly growing area.
