Let’s be honest, the IGEM website isn’t giving you what you need.
It’s slow, it suffers from poor navigation, and it falls well below the standards you’ve come to expect from IGEM services. We’ve heard this time and time again, and we do listen.
In early 2021, we embarked on a project to replace not only the website but also the CRM system that supports it, along with the suitability of other platforms for events and publications.
Fast forward to the second quarter of 2022, when we plan to launch a new website supported by CRM, and integrated platforms for training, event delivery, standards, licensing, and membership.
The IGEM team has spent many hours consulting internally and externally to ensure we have a scalable platform that can grow and adapt as the organisation strives to meet the needs of an expanding membership.
It’s too early to tell you when the platforms will go live, but we will keep you informed over the coming months. It’s anticipated that there will be minimal downtime and impact for members as we ‘flip the switch’.
As part of the project, we will be migrating user data from the old CRM to the new one, ensuring compliance around data protection at all stages.
This is the latest step in IGEM’s digital evolution, taking advantage of available technologies, moving with the times as a digitally-mature membership organisation and adapting to the mix of office, hybrid and home working our members and our staff enjoy. As part of this roadmap, we have plans to further evolve the website, and our digital offering for events, training, and publications over the weeks and months as this project goes live.
