The IGEM Scottish Section hosted its Annual Dinner Dance, on 14 September, at Glasgow’s the Double Tree Hilton.
Guests were welcomed to the event with a drinks reception and an opening address from Scottish Section Chair David McLeod. This was followed by grace, delivered by committee member Ben Clarke, and a three course meal with wine.
The charity raffle helped to raise over £1,300 for veterans charity Erskine, which cares for over 800 residents each year. Their homes provide Scottish veterans with long-term medical care, support and companionship.
Raffle prizes included a helicopter ride for two, a signed rugby ball, afternoon tea and a selection of fine wines and spirits. Thank you to everyone who donated a prize and to the guests who entered the raffle.
The evening concluded with attendees dancing the night away to the sounds of Ocean Drive, a duo who played contemporary and classic pop hits. Late night revellers then headed to the hotel bar for a wee dram and to continue networking with industry colleagues.
A huge thank you to the main event sponsor SGN, table sponsors Steer Energy, Armstrong Fluid Technology, Energetics, PM Projen, and to our members and guests who helped to make it a memorable evening.
Special thanks goes to Scottish Section committee member Sheila Lauchlan, who organised another fantastic evening on behalf of the Section and IGEM.
