The IGEM Policy Conference is a leading UK energy policy event focused on Fuelling Flexibility: Gas in a Clean Energy System, the conference brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and energy professionals to explore demand‑side flexibility, hydrogen networks, biomethane, and whole‑system costs on the path to net zero.
Join expert speakers and peers for insightful discussions, practical policy perspectives, and high‑value networking shaping the future of the gas and energy system.
This year’s event will include four sessions:
Session 1 – Demand-Side Flexibility
This session will explore the case for flexibility, the flexibility opportunity for industrial and commercial consumers, including data centres and the use of hybrid heating in homes in The Netherlands to manage DNO capacity constraints
Session 2 – Hydrogen Blending & Hydrogen Networks
This session will cover the current activities relating to the ongoing work to prepare for hydrogen blending in the gas network and the two areas seeking to host the UK’s first regional hydrogen network: Humber Hydrogen and Hynet.
Session 3 – Unlocking Biomethane: Energy & Agriculture
A panel session featuring major industrial end users, the key organisation trusted with estimating UK feedstock potential, the trade body for anaerobic digestion and one of the leading biomethane producers.
Session 4 – Whole System Cost
This session will explore the important subject of system cost – and particularly the role of biomethane and hybrid heating in keeping system costs low in the transformation to net zero and beyond.
There will be plenty of opportunities for delegates to ask questions and network with like-minded colleagues.
