Modelling Grid Stabilisation Using Curtailed Wind & Liquid H2

In 2022, Emily Mulcair formally of Fingleton White, became the winner of the IGEM YPPC Final 2022 with her presentation Modelling Grid Stabilisation Using Curtailed Wind & Liquid H2. 

Emily will be delivering her presentation again to all IGEM members in April.

The project assesses the feasibility of storing and using liquid hydrogen for power generation using curtailed wind from the Oweninny Windfarm in North Mayo.

The project also highlights the impact of employing a range of technologies and various hydrogen: methane blends on the viability of wind hydrogen system projects.
