The Huntingdon Gas Compressor Station is a key part of the UK's gas transmission network. Operated by National Gas, it is a pivotal compressor transmitting high east flows to the wider gas network and international exports to Europe. It also facilitates North to South flows and is critical to supplying natural gas further South.
National Gas Operates it's compressor stations to reduce emissions associated with moving gas around the UK to support EU legislation. Huntingdon Compressor is a key site to keep the gas flowing throughout the UK. This opportunity offers a chance to visit the site and understand further how the gas transmission works and the operation and maintenance of the site.
The site tour will include explanation of how compressors work and how the site works.
Attendees will need to bring their own lunch.
