Develop York Training Centre Visit

Visit the Develop Training York centre as they showcase their best-in-class training facilities for the gas and utilities industry.

Develop’s York training centre is a Centre of Excellence for gas and utility training.

A fully to-scale Joint Emergency Training Set (JETSET) was unveiled there earlier this year in partnership with Northern Gas Networks (NGN). This is a fully to-scale artificial street designed to safely recreate emergency response scenarios and enable delegates to learn practical skills in an environment that simulates real-life conditions in the field. Known as ‘Training Terrace’, the purpose-built street, includes 3 purpose built bungalows, street works facilities, Utili-teas café, confined space unit and deep excavation pit for utility excavations. These facilities allow Develop to deliver courses in emergency response to gas incidents, as well as excavation safety, cable avoidance, ACS gas, street lighting, drains, sewer and drain jeting, confined spaces entry, and more.

The York centre itself also underwent a £500k refurbishment earlier this year, including updates to two fixed-learning classrooms, a hybrid centre catering for alternative energies, two HV workshops and an LV workshop.

They are also currently refurbishing their gas facilities and pressure control training area. These will be ready to showcase in Spring.

Register today and see how you can benefit from them. There will also be representatives from NGN, JTL and CompEx in attendance so visitors can liaise with them in regards to gas engineering apprenticeships and competency in explosive atmospheres.
