Production of Biogas is a route that has many multifaceted benefits, it can be upgraded to Biomethane which is an adaptable fuel that is increasingly contributing to decarbonising challenging sectors such as heavy transport and machinery, industrial processes, agriculture and can be injected into the gas grid, directly replacing natural gas.
This year, the Company Members Conference will be looking at the biomethane industry, focusing on various routes and downstream uses of Biomethane, highlighting the biomethane industry's perspective rather than the gas industry's view of biomethane
We aim to look at:
· Variable Volume Gas Storage – Focusing on technical challenges and system design considerations
· Principles of Biogas Systems – Including how they operate, emphasising the differences and unique properties
· Blending – Specifically how it affects the biomethane industry rather than gas distribution
· Green Gas Support Scheme – Looking at the impact on landowners and farmers
· Technical Standards for Biogas – including political aspects related to biomethane
