Come along to our annual Christmas Lunch. The event provides an excellent opportunity for networking and reconnecting with old and new friends and colleagues.
Throughout the evening, a fully licensed bar will be available for your enjoyment. Additionally, we will be hosting a charity raffle to spread the Christmas spirit and support those in need. Donations for raffle prizes are greatly appreciated, as we continue to support The Pendleside Hospice in memory of our past Chairman, Bill Maclean.
Pendleside Hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and caregivers. They provide specialised and holistic palliative care that caters to each person's unique physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
We are honoured to have Frank Bruno MBE, English former professional boxer, as our after-dinner speaker. Frank competed from 1982 to 1996 and will be sharing fascinating insights from his life in the boxing world.
We will also be supporting The Frank Bruno Foundation. The foundation was set up in 2017 to provide a safe environment for young people with mental health issues. It is Frank’s bravery and honesty in talking about his battles with mental health issues, which continue to earn him the respect of those whose affection he won as a boxer. It is fitting then that supporting sufferers of mental ill-health is where Frank feels his attention is best focussed. Frank has spoken openly of how exercise has played a vital role throughout his life whilst training as a professional boxer, and more recently in his battle with mental health challenges. Through his recent autobiography Frank has found the benefits of talking and sharing his experiences has not only enabled him to help others but the public responses have empowered him to accept his own previous mental health challenges.
