Charity Sunset Walk

IGEM North West Section is thrilled to invite you to their Charity Sunset Walk to Winter Hill in aid of Bolton Hospice.

This isn’t just a walk, it’s a journey to make a difference! We’re raising funds for Bolton Hospice, a beacon of care and support for local people facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Mark your calendars for this moderately challenging but rewarding trail to the top of Winter Hill, Rivington Moor, Chorley. As you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views that are worth every step!

Donations for Bolton Hospice can be made before or on the day. But remember, places are limited to 20 lucky adventurers, so don’t miss out!

We have listed some clothing we think is essential for your walk:

• suitable footwear

• walking socks made from wicking material

• comfortable shorts for hot days, or longer 3/4 or full length trousers when colder

• waterproof over trousers that can be put on over your shoes and boots if it rains

• base layer made from wicking material, mid layer fleece of appropriate thickness

• good waterproof and windproof jacket that's roomy with easily accessible pockets, or lighter jacket for milder conditions

• cap, hat or balaclava

You will also need to consider the following equipment to help you with your walk:

• sunglasses with good UVA/UVB filtering

• sunscreen and lip balm

• drink and snack

• map, compass and whistle

• first aid kit

• mobile phone

• a daypack or rucksack

Don’t forget your sturdy shoes! There will be refreshments waiting for you at the top of Winter Hill.

Let’s walk together, under the setting sun, for a cause that warms our hearts!
