Salisu Kwalami Haruna has over 23 years of experience in the natural gas sector in technical, commercial, and leadership roles. He blends engineering depth with gas/LNG market analyses & modelling, and stakeholder management to advance gas development and market growth.

For the past six years, he has been engaged in coordination and executive advisory on gas at NNPC, providing pragmatic and data-driven insights that inform senior-level decisions.

Over his career period, he worked on multiple upstream and midstream initiatives and projects covering concept development through execution, investments, gas supply and demand planning and delivery assurance for NNPC priority gas and power projects.

Between 2013 and 2019, he worked at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), a Doha based intergovernmental organization of the gas exporting countries, delivering in-depth assessments and insights on gas/LNG markets, gas diplomacy and strategy to support decision/policy makers of the GECF member countries on gas matters. He was later appointed by Nigeria as national representative on the Technical & Economic Council of the GECF from 2021 – 2023.

Salisu holds a Doctorate in Engineering Management from the George Washington University, USA, an MSc in Environmental Technology from DMU, Leicester (UK) and Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from ABU Zaria, Nigeria.

He is a chartered member of the UK’s Engineering Council and Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers as well as Nigeria’s COREN certified engineer.
