Mont Selas Ltd
1975 Mont Engineering was formed in Manchester by John Lawton specialising in industrial combustion.
1978 Mont Engineering acquired the gas components element of Keith Blackman, Gas Engineers specializing in compressors, air/gas mixers, and burners for all industrial and commercial applications.
1985 Mont Engineering acquired the business interest of Wellman Selas, beneficiaries of the Selas interest in the UK; the name changed to Mont Selas KB Ltd
1999 Mont Selas KB Ltd was acquired by Edward Hunt and the business was moved from Selas Works in City Road, Manchester to Middleton.
2003 Mont Selas Ltd (note the KB (Keith Blackman) was dropped from the company name) was set up as an independent company owned 50/50 by Edward Hunt and Bob Marsland. The business moved to Brookside Business Park, Chadderton.
2006 Research and development starts on energy efficient gas burner for the bakery industry in collaboration with RMR Thermal Solutions.
2007 Application for Patent of the Enviromont™ WMN gas burner.
2008 The Enviromont™ WMN gas burner is granted a patent in the UK, Europe, and North America.
2016 Sales of the Enviromont™ WMN gas burner exceed 4000 units.
2023 Mont Selas Ltd ownership transferred to the next generation of the Hunt/Marsland families continuing with the 50/50 ownership.
2024 Opening of a new training center approved to deliver the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) for the Commercial/Industrial Gas sector.
