The gas engines market is entering a dynamic new phase. The past few years have seen a dramatic shift of emphasis on power generation, away from fossil fuels towards renewables. Decarbonising the energy system is essential to meeting our net zero targets and gas engines are now seen by many as part of the solution - a key technology in the energy mix to compliment renewables. New applications are in evidence, such as collective power systems for hospitals, apartment blocks etc.

Against this background IGEM feels it is timely to survey this sector and gain the views throughout the value chain. In addition, we wish to take an in depth look at the growing role of O&M companies who manage and service the gas engines facilities on behalf of owners and many of our members will be engineers working in this sector.

With your co-operation, this survey will produce valuable data which we can then share with the industry to inform the market. To achieve this IGEM is collaborating with London based strategy consultancy - The Strategy Works – www.thestrategyworks.com who has carried out previous research projects in gas engines ; marine fuels; lubricants for trucks and off-highway vehicles. You will also have the opportunity later in the survey to volunteer for a telephone interview; in return for which you will receive a more detailed complementary in-depth analysis of the survey.

Data protection is paramount and IGEM will control the database and TSW will manage the on-line survey and subsequent analysis of the data.

This is your chance to be heard, as your views are really important to us and we very much look forward to your participation!

The survey will close on 19 October.
