2020 has been a difficult year but with Christmas fast approaching we're looking ahead to a new year with much to look forward to. Among all of our national and regional events taking place throughout the year, we have some new and exciting things planned.

We'll be launching the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre, a digital library packed with useful documents, papers and research all relating to hydrogen from across the global industry. As a member you will benefit from full access to the site to help enhance your understanding of hydrogen and the latest technical and policy developments.

A new e-learning platform is underway to provide digital access to a new range of technical and soft skills training courses. Launching in Q1 2021, we will focus on a number of key areas of regulation and legislation that is essential to the gas industry. In addition, to support the launch of IGEM/G/11 we will be launching an e-learning module on IGEM’s Unsafe Situation Procedure. Our training will continue to be delivered virtually and we will be adding more courses to our portfolio next year.

We're always working behind the scenes on keeping our technical standards up to date as well as producing brand new standards for the industry. IGEM/G/5 Gas in multi-occupancy buildings is currently under review and will soon be published. We will launch an update to IGEM/G/11 The Gas Industry Unsafe Situation Procedure in January. With hydrogen at the core of the future of gas, we are also working on standards to assist in the development and transition to hydrogen. This will see us produce new supplements for Hydrogen for IGEM/TD/1, IGEM/TD/3, IGEM/TD/4, IGEM/TD/13 plus a new IGEM/SR/25. We will also be publishing a Hydrogen Interim Standard supporting the Training Specification for engineers working in the first public trials.

Our Sir Denis Rooke Memorial Lecture will return in March next year and we're excited to announce it will be delivered by Lord Browne, former Group Chief Executive of BP. More details of the event and how to book will be available soon.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for your loyalty to IGEM, we really appreciate your contribution and look forward to supporting you in the year ahead.
