Stubs have long been of engineering difficulty for the GDN’s and never more so in the remaining years of the 30/30 programme. Recent NIA projects with Steve Vick Int ltd have developed and approved techniques for dealing with these stubs, whether that’s for abandonment or replacement.
Both techniques are applied from the side street and often 20-30m away from the parent main connection, Tier1 & Tier 2 ESEAL achieves 100% abandonment and FBOS currently allowing 75mm in to 4” and 125mm in to 6” replacement on single or two-way fed mains.
Join the South West Section along with Sean Noonan, Operations Director and Rich Ditte, Senior Development Manager at Steve Vick International, as we explore these techniques in more detail.
