Site tour of Huntingdon compressor station

National Grid is upgrading its compressor stations to reduce emissions associated with moving gas around the UK to support EU legislation. The project at Huntingdon has added benefits that include increased system resilience and reduced overall risk on the National Transmission System by replacing ageing assets with modern, efficient equipment. Come and visit the project to learn what compressor stations do and see the scope of the improvement works on a guided tour.
The site tour will include explanation of how compressors and the site works. It will also include access to the main works area to see the current work being undertaken on the station up close.
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch, provided by IGEM
13:00 – 15:00 Compressor site tour, facilitated by innovation specialist and project engineer
15:00 – 15:30 wrap up and finish
Attendees must bring their own PPE - to include hard hat, safety glasses, safety overalls, safety boots, gloves, high vis jacket or bib.
Please note that this event is exclusively for IGEM YPN members and YPN eligible non-members aged 18 to 35.
