IGEM’s Road to 2050 series of conferences has looked at the decarbonisation of heat, the decentralisation of energy, and this year will focus on the third element of the energy trilemma: digitalisation.

From smart grids to big data, we’ll be talking about how the networks can more accurately predict and manage demand, ultimately reducing the carbon footprint of the networks and preparing the UK’s energy system for a more automated world.

Achieving this will require greater innovation than the networks have ever seen before, changing the way we do things and the technology we use to capture and manage the data.

This conference will incorporate case studies from the cutting edge of the digital revolution, demonstrating the paradigm-shifting work that is already taking place and the lessons the networks can learn from each other.

Be a digital pioneer, come along and find out what is happening in these spheres:

Big data and data analysis

Cyber security

Smart technology, homes and infrastructure

Automation

Understanding changing customer habits

Business improvement and optimisation
