National Grid’s Sustainable Construction Programme
Designing responsibly, building sustainably, delivering
differently

Jessica Richardson MIEMA, Sustainable
Development Adviser, NG will be considering how people struggle to
translate "sustainability" into change for the better. Beyond
knowing that they can recycle more, and use less fuel, few people
think how to apply sustainability to their work. A large part of
the NG Sustainable Construction programme will be communicating how
everyone can contribute. The 5 priority areas which the programme
will focus on are Carbon Footprint, Technical Speci cations,
Sustainability Reviews, Innovating and Implementing and
Culture.
This presentation will be followed by a discussion with
Annie Willoughby Richards DipEM MSc AIEMA of AFGS
Ltd discussing her experience of Environmental Psychology and the
di culties associated with getting people to buy in and promote
sustainability in their day-to-day life.
