Designing responsibly, building sustainably, delivering differently

Thursday 23rd February 2012

Refreshments at 5.30 for 6.00pm

National Grid, Skills & Development Centre, Cadwell Lane, Hitchin, SG4 OSL

Jessica Richardson MIEMA, Sustainable Development Adviser, NG will be considering how people struggle to translate "sustainability" into change for the better. Beyond knowing that they can recycle more, and use less fuel, few people think how to apply sustainability to their work. A large part of the NG Sustainable Construction programme will be communicating how everyone can contribute. The 5 priority areas which the programme will focus on are Carbon Footprint, Technical Speci cations, Sustainability Reviews, Innovating and Implementing and Culture.

This presentation will be followed by a discussion with Annie Willoughby Richards DipEM MSc AIEMA of AFGS Ltd discussing her experience of Environmental Psychology and the di culties associated with getting people to buy in and promote sustainability in their day-to-day life.
