Initial Professional Development (IPD)

IPD requires a continuum of educations, training and personal development, which builds upon the education base in order to achieve the professional competence required for registration as an Engineer or Technician in the gas industry. It is the process of acquiring and developing the special skills and approaches needed to practice at a Professional level within the gas industry and within the engineering sector generally. IPD covers the training requirements from the period of studentship to registration. The essence of IPD is the development of competence by learning as much as possible from productive work experience.
