Mentoring Workshop for IGEM Members

The purpose of this workshop is to prepare attendees for their role as approved Institution mentors in which they will provide support to candidates who are seeking professional registration with EC(UK). The workshop is intended to cover the role of mentor and mentee, the Institution mentoring process and to explore best practise in order to develop capability in this important skill.

It will also cover the UKSPEC requirements (including the Technical Report Option) for membership at CEng, IEng and EngTech, to enable the provision of informed advice to those who are being mentored. The aim is to provide as much opportunity as possible during the workshop for dialogue plus the sharing of learning and experience with those who have both mentored and been mentored.

The workshop will be held on Thursday 8th May 2008, from 10.30am at IGEM HQ in Loughborough.
