IGEM has a diverse membership that ranges from students through to qualified professionals in all disciplines to the interested and involved retired community and our membership structure provides for entry at any level of qualification and at any stage in your career. Graduate Member

Graduate Members will hold an appropriate degree likely to lead to Corporate Membership of the Institution.
Entry Requirements
- Hold an accredited MEng engineering degree, or equivalent; or
- An accredited BEng(Hons) engineering degree, or equivalent, with or without Further Learning for CEng or,
- An accredited BEng/BSc degree, with or without honours accredited for IEng or Member Manager grade.
Intital Professional Development
Candidates with qualifications listed above are deemed to be en-route to Corporate Membership and registration as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer. They are not yet required to undertake the Professional Review but must be in the course of developing the Initial Professional Development (IPD).
IPD may be expected to take at least four years and it is a requirement to demonstrate competence and commitment applied in the gas industry by means of the Professional Review.
How to Apply
- Candidates should complete the application form below.
- The application must be supported by a Member Manager of the Institution or a EC Registered Engineer. The Sponsor must authenticate as many of the statements made by the applicant as possible.
- The Sponsor must authenticate all copies of certificates. They are asked to sign that they have seen the original certificate and that they believe this to be a true and an original certificate. Failure to do so will delay the process of the application.
- Return the completed application form with copies of certificates, documentary evidence and appropriate fee to the Membership Department.
- Candidates will be notified of the result as soon as a decision has been made.
