9 Feb & 2 March - Resolving Difficulties in Supplying Gas to Blocks of Flats - PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATE FOR THE SCOTLAND SEMINAR. THIS HAS CHANGED AND WILL NOW BE HELD ON 2nd MARCH 2010. - Are you a designer of buildings or gas supplies? Do you install gas supplies or appliances in blocks of flats, or indeed are you responsible for arranging or undertaking maintenance of such buildings or gas supplies?
If yes, then this event is for you!
Since IGEM published its Standard IGE/G/5 in 2006, there remain common difficulties in design, installation and maintenance of both gas supplies and the buildings themselves. These include meter banks, shared flue systems, protected shafts, Building Regulations relating to gas supplies, and selection of appliances.
IGEM have arranged two seminars at IGEM House on 9 February and in Scotland on 2 March to specifically address such issues and to demonstrate how the problems can be resolved in most situations.
For all enquiries call Gemma Tunnicliffe on 01509 678159 or email gemma@igem.org.uk. Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available! Find out more.

2 March - The IET conference on Smart Metering: Delivering a Smart UK - Don't miss this opportunity to discover what DECC's Smart Metering Recommendation will mean for the energy industry over the next few years. Bringing together many of the leading minds in the industry, the day's sessions will focus on demand side management initiatives, future smart grids, distributed generation and electric vehicles. Representatives of Government, regulators, key innovators and the energy networks will all be in attendance.

As a supporter of the event, IGEM members are eligible to register at the IET member rate - saving £80 per place. Register your place online at www.theiet.org/smart-metering before the end of 2009 to make further savings with the Early Bird rate!
