IGEM Flame - Keep Enlightened

Gordon Davies - IGEM President

Dear %%FNAME%% ,

Welcome to the May edition of the IGEM Flame, our e-newsletter.

I am Gordon Davies, the IGEM President for 2009/10, following the Annual General Meeting held on 7 May 2009. You can find out more about me (and Chief Executive Officer, John Williams) by clicking here.

In my year as President I am looking forward to hosting a series of prestigious events, starting with the Annual Conference and Engineering Update on 23 and 24 June. I look forward to welcoming you at IGEM's unmissable event of the year; not only is this two-day event free of charge, it also counts towards your continuous professional development. More information on the programme can be found by clicking here or reserve your place by emailing gemma@igem.org.uk.

On 3 July my wife Angela and I will be hosting the Summer Ball. Held at Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire, this is IGEM's best social and networking event of the year and features a champagne reception, silver service meal, live band, dodgems, fireworks and more. Book your place by contacting Lesley@igem.org.uk.

On behalf of John Williams and myself I would like to welcome three new members of staff to the IGEM team; Julia Adcock as Membership Assistant, Fiona Hurst as Technical Typist and Carol Baxter as Advertising Sales. Look out for them on future editions of the IGEM Flame.

Remember, "Keep enlightened with IGEM Flame!"

Yours sincerely, Gordon Davies, IGEM President.
