Gordon Davies
President

Gordon Davies has been a member of the Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers for over 40 years, a Chartered Engineer for 38 years and is a Fellow of The Institution. He has served five terms as an Ordinary Member of Council and has also served on Council as a District Section Member. He has been a District Section Chairman, Honorary Secretary of the Eastern Section and also served as President of the former Eastern Counties Gas Association.

Apart from his current position as a Trustee of the Institution, Gordon is Chairman of the Membership Committee, chaired the Strategic Planning Committee for 2008/9, is a member of the Finance Committee, a Trustee of the Benevolent Fund and director of IGEM Trading. He is also an experienced Professional Review Interviewer, trains newly appointed interviewers and conducts C Eng workshops for engineering graduates.

After a successful career in the former British Gas spanning 35 years Gordon has, through his company G.A.S Consulting, undertaken assignments in the gas, oil and electricity industries in both the UK and overseas for over ten years. He is internationally recognised and his managerial and technical expertise has been used in Australia, USA, Far East, Middle East and many countries in Europe.

Gordon is married to Angela and has a married son and daughter who live in Dubai and the USA respectively. Gordon is an experienced glider and light aircraft pilot which he pursues vigorously when time permits from work and IGEM duties.
